3 Now the serpent was more crafty than any wild animal which Adonai, God, had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You are not to eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2 The woman answered the serpent, “We may eat from the fruit of the trees of the garden, 3 but about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God said, ‘You are neither to eat from it nor touch it, or you will die.’” 4 The serpent said to the woman, “It is not true that you will surely die; 5 because God knows that on the day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”Genesis 3:1-5 (CJB)
Let us note that the serpent is indeed crafty.
Our love or desire for knowledge may be the trigger that can lead us away from our father in Heaven.
Knowledge is important and good. Yet, we have to discern and ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten us if we are meant to gain that knowledge.
One example for this love and desire of knowledge is witchcraft.
People are often inclined to seek the knowledge gained from sorcery and similar means.
Many times we are being misled by the same serpent whom we hear in our hearts and minds.
If you are inclined to go for witchcraft, sorcery, occultism — stop it and ask Jesus to save you and guide you through the Holy Spirit.
Remember that God is a jealous God and seeks not to be worshipped with all the other gods.
Exodus 34:14: “…for you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”
If you really need to know something, ask God through Jesus our messiah, and you will surely receive an answer.
The only question is: will you be happy with the answer?
People normally want answers congruent to their expected outcomes.
Father in Heaven, guide us that we may not seek the knowledge which is not meant for us.
Guide us that we may learn to be contented and fulfilled of all the blessings you have showered upon us.
Guide us to know and discern on our desires.
Send your Holy Spirit to remind us that we are not gods and should not aim to be one; instead send your Holy Spirit to remind us that we are your children, oh Father.
Father, grant us the dreams and desires in our hearts that we have to pursue. And lead us away from any temptation and desire that may lead us away from you.
This we ask through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Messiah. Amen.
