A person may be a poor man concerning worldly things, yet he is rich in God’s sight. A truly rich person maybe someone who has fulfilled his purpose despite worldly challenges. He can be generous despite his lack. He may also be someone who can stand for the truth despite the pressure. Finally, he is someone who tries his best to make his relationship with God the top priority in his life.
Is it really better to be poor but with integrity?
Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways,
Proverbs 19:1
We believe in a God who abundantly provides. So with that, we can never be poor. But yes, it is better to be poor by this world’s standards than to lose integrity.
My take on “poor but with integrity.”
To paraphrase what my late grandfather used to say: “It is better to be cheated by others than for us to cheat. With that, you can respect yourself and gain the respect of your children. Those who cheat walk with shame deep inside. The guilt may someday eat them.”

Thanksgiving and prayer intentions:
We want to thank YHWH, our God, for answering our prayers.
We pray to our God, YHWH, for world peace.
Can we pray for our teenagers and youths? May they find the meaning and purpose God has etched in their hearts despite these challenging and crazy times. I would like to pray for one particular youth who has lost the drive to continue schooling. May he find the joy, fulfillment, and purpose that God has prepared for him in life. Amen.
You can send your prayer request here or via email.
I invite you to become one of Christ’s silent warriors. I will be sending you prayer requests each week. And in return, we ask you to send any prayer requests that we can share with other silent warriors.
