Passage 38: Our Citizenship Is In Heaven

20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

Philippians 3:20-21 (ESV)

Reflection

With all that is happening — poverty, pandemic (COVID-19), suffering, pain, depression, chaos, anxiety, etc. — we have to remember that our citizenship is in Heaven.

As citizens of Heaven — we have to believe that the Kingdom of Heaven will take care of us and will send out angels and messengers to rescue us, protect us, and inspire us.

Challenge

Count your blessings everyday.

Be grateful for the small things. These small things may not matter so much to you in the past. Your sights, speech, hearing, sense of touch, and smell.

We usually take them for granted.

Prayer

Thank you Father in Heaven for all the blessings I have received.

Thank you Father for my brain, my mind. Thank you, Father, in Heaven for my free will.

Thank you for my physical attributes — eyes, mouth, nose, ears, etc.

Thank you Father for my family, relatives, and friends.

Thank you for all the blessings you’ve given me.

For small blessings that I usually take for granted, thank you for these blessings. They are in fact more important than my big dreams.

Father in Heaven, bless us continuously and protects us against all evil and harm.

This we ask in the name of Jesus, our messiah. Amen.
