Leviticus 19:19 of Wearing Wool and Linen Together (A Restriction that We May Not Fully Understand Yet)

Leviticus 19:19
New King James Version (NKJV)

19 ‘You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.

Of the three statutes, I find the last one more perplexing: “Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.”

I believe that spirituality is somehow a science we humans cannot yet fully grasp or understand. It is a science beyond our plane of existence. It is that which we can experience, yet not fully understand – not until the appointed time of God when we are blessed to spiritually discern its meaning.

1 Corinthians 2:14
New King James Version (NKJV)

14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

There are scripture passages that might seem be confusing, more so that they can be foolish for the wise of this world.

I used to love shrimps, crabs, lobsters, seashells a lot. Yet in Leviticus 11:9-12, we are forbidden to eat them.

Leviticus 11:9-12
New King James Version (NKJV)

9 ‘These you may eat of all that are in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers—that you may eat. 10 But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you. 11 They shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination. 12 Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales—that shall be an abomination to you.

Why is this so? Is it just merely a rule for us to prove ourselves that we can follow and obey? Or does YHWH, our God, know of something that we do not yet fully know or understand? Deep in my heart, I believe that these restrictions are given to us because YHWH, our God, loves us.  As sabbath is created for man so he can rest (which is exactly what most, if not all, of the working class need in this generation),  the restriction must have a reason:

According to the FDA, raw oysters, mussels and clams are responsible for 85 percent of all illnesses caused by eating seafood. Such conditions as hepatitis A, salmonella, Norwalk virus, cholera and paralytic shellfish poisoning are just a few of the problems that are often linked to shellfish consumption. The more waste we dump into our oceans, lakes and streams, the greater the risk of getting sick from eating shellfish and other aquatic scavengers becomes. Check out the link above to get info on shrimps, crabs, and lobsters.  Guess what? These are bad for our health.  This restriction has long been given to God’s people before they can even scientifically prove its health hazard/risk. Therefore, spirituality in this sense is a science that which they don’t fully understand yet – during the time the restriction was given to them.

What about the statute of wearing wool and linen together? Does it have any scientific proof?

The Biblical warning, YHWH’s Torah instruction of wearing wool and linen together proved in scientific studies to be accurate: the energy of these two fabrics put together (wool sweater on top of a linen outfit) collapsed the electrical field as well as wearing of black coloured fabric. Where the two textiles measure 5 000 signature frequencies, when put together, these cancelled each other and brought measurable weakness; and, in some tests, even pain to the human body.

While the above findings can still be refuted, it is my firm belief that YHWH, our God, has his good reasons of that which we cannot fully understand yet. I know for a fact though that all these restrictions and statutes are set for the welfare of God’s people. We just cannot fully understand them yet.
