Passage 30: In All Things Praise the Lord

I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!

Psalm 34:1-3

Reflection:

When the present seems bleak, and the future is gloomy and uncertain — Psalm 34 reminds us to praise God at all times.

When there is no clear reason of why we should praise and thank God, it is the very reason that we should praise Him, glorify Him, and thank Him.

In that or this instance, we should worship Him, acknowledging and humbling ourselves that we are simply like dust blown by the wind.

My brothers and sisters in Jesus, our messiah, I urge you to pray with me basing our prayer from a passage in 1 Thessalonians 5.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, in this bleak and trying times, we pray that we may still find respect in every person we meet. We pray that we may find peace among ourselves despite uncertainties.

Father, please give us the grace to be strong so we can encourage the fainthearted and help the weak. Give us the grace to be patient as we try our very best to be living witnesses of your love and forgiveness.

Grant us the grace, oh Father in Heaven, to pray without ceasing, to give thanks in all circumstances, and to worship you despite any circumstances and outcomes. Keep us away from all evil, and make us vigilant to test the spirit behind everything.

May your peace be with us, and may you sanctify us. May your grace and salvation be with us. This we ask in Jesus, our messiah. Amen.

12We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. 14And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle,c encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. 15See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. 16Rejoice always, 17pray without ceasing, 18give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19Do not quench the Spirit. 20Do not despise prophecies, 21but test everything; hold fast what is good. 22Abstain from every form of evil.

23Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
