Passage 50: Have No Fear of Them Nor Be Troubled

don't be troubled even if you suffer in righteousness

14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,

1 Peter 3:14

What is righteoursness?

According to Google, it is the quality of being morally right or justifiable.

It makes me asks:

  • How many of us take righteousness into consideration when deciding on important matters in life, like earning a living?
  • How many of us twist the real meaning of righteousness to justify a cause?
  • Who is the real righteous among us?

Let us take sometime to examine our reasons for doing things. Let us consider others as decide.

Father in Heaven, bless us and guide us as we continue the challenges we face in life. Who can be righteous when facing you? Who can be justified in all our decisions and actions?

You are the only just, and you are the only righteous. Men have failed to live up to the standard of righteousness laid down by the Law (your commandments). We even hardly really understand them. We interpret them at times as to our convenience.

Father, take charge of my life, of my concerns, of my health, of my family and loves ones. Take charge and guide me as you wish.

Times have been rough, but I know you are with me, despite my failures and shortcomings.

With you, I will have no fear and trouble — not because I am righteous, yet because I am with the Righteous, and that is you, my God.

Protect my family against harm and lead us not into evil and harm. Lead me away from any temptation that may depart us from you.

This we ask in the name of Jesus, our messiah. Amen.
