Passage 83: God Has Never Given Up on Humanity, but Have We?

Reflection

God’s miracles happen every moment. For the unbelievers, they call them science or coincidences. For many who believe in God, He works in mysterious ways: mysterious but not unknown; supernatural, but not a secret; strange, but not unusual. Most of all, God’s timing is the best.

The Bible speaks of all these mysterious ways. These mysteries can be known yet not fully understood. The believers experienced them, yet in time, people forget. They happen to everyday lives yet are often dismissed.

Humanity often wonders:

“Is there a God?”

“Where is He when we need Him?”

“Are we left on our own to survive and thrive?”

“Has God abandoned us?

No, He has not. He has been calling for us, waiting for us. He has been trying to reach for us. But, all along, humanity finds many different reasons to avoid Him. He is just waiting for us to call upon Him. He even came to us in the flesh, yet we neglected him.

The stories in the Bible are about LOVE and relationship. God’s love for humanity and how God has kept His people blessed. Humanity’s frailty and God’s love for humanity. As many relationships, God has never given up on humanity to this day? We are still in the here-and-now, aren’t we? The question is: “Have we given up on God?”

Challenge

  • Read the Bible every day and spend a few minutes understanding how some of the characters nurtured this love and relationship with God.
  • Share to others, particularly those trying to find meaning in life, the Bible: an inspirational book, a how-to book, a historical book, and guide to life book, a prediction/prophecy book, a love-story book, the greatest book ever written for humanity.

For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly execute justice one with another, if you do not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.

~ Jeremiah 7:5-7

Prayer

Father in Heaven, bless me with your wisdom, so mysteries may be known though not fully understood. Bless me with long life so I may experience your miracles and preach about them. Bless me with courage that I may proclaim your truth and glory. Bless me with humility that I may be an instrument of your forgiveness.

I pray in the name of Jesus, my Savior and King. Amen.
