Are You Timid to Use Your Gifts?

Perhaps now I should be calling you a friend regardless of whether we know each other face-to-face.

Merriam-Webster essentially defines the word friend as 1) a person who you like and enjoy being with  2) a person who helps or supports someone or something (such as a cause or charity).

I think in one way or another, you’ve read several of my weekly posts; at one point in time, you may have sent me your wishes, prayer request, or feedback. So in that way, you’ve supported my mission to bring the good news to as many people as possible through modern digital means.

And if for any reason, you feel otherwise. I wish that we be friends to support each other in this journey as we wait for the kingdom of God. Aren’t we supposed to encourage each other as believers in Jesus Christ? To be in fellowship with each other in Jesus, despite virtually?

My intentions are simple (yet ambitious):

  1.  I hope to be an instrument of hope, enlightenment, and love.
  2.  I wish to help ease people’s pain and persuade them to choose peace of mind over immoral earthly desires.
  3.  I pray that people repent of their mistakes and guilt, surrender to God their life, accept Him as their only savior through Jesus Christ.
  4.  I invite people, you, my friend, to take part in this mission of bringing back people to God, starting with ourselves and the people we love.
  5.  I dream for people, you and me, taking a fellowship in God’s kingdom as His children.

Because we serve a great God and are children of the only true God, YHWH, we can always seek the most ambitious intentions.

And though these are ambitious, they are yet simple intentions because they are intrinsically etched in every man the moment God created him: love, peace, hope, enlightenment, and a life with God as His children.

Do you know your gifts?

I am sure you have your innate talents, yet are you aware of them?

Are you timid to use them?

Do you have the gift of healing?  You don’t have to be a certified physician to heal people.  God has carved that in you.  There is more spiritual and emotional healing to do in this world than the physical healing people need.

I have come to believe that most of our sicknesses, diseases, and medical conditions like cancer are utterly effects of emotional stress and psychological burden. Wrong priorities in life often pave the way for our lifestyle or way of living. These lifestyles brought about emotional, psychological, and spiritual circuses or exhibitions in our life.

Do you have the gift of vision and dreams?  You don’t need to be a professional fortuneteller to be one.  You’ll know it the moment you wake up in the morning or sleep at night.  It speaks to you in your heart and knocks into your mind. These visions and dreams are like toddlers pulling your shirts while you work, eat, sleep, or play, trying to grab your attention and hoping that sooner you’ll understand.

Do you have the gifts of discernment?  You don’t need to be a judge to be one. God has engraved this in our hearts and in our very being to discern the spirits for our survival. Yet, so many times, we are just so weak to resist. Our earthly ambitions pollute our very core to discern between good and evil. We only wake up regretting them. I only wish it would be sooner, though better late than never.

For every man has his time to repent and make peace with self and God. I only pray that we may seize it when it comes.

Whatever your gifts, are you making use of them in building the kingdom of God? Are you doing your share in building God’s kingdom as you await the return of Jesus? Be it that one crude brick of love to a poor widow, another small brick of kindness to a homeless grandpa, or a broken brick of forgiveness to a person who has hurt you.  God can turn those bricks into gold as we do our modest minute shares of love in building His kingdom.

See the gifts of the Holy Spirit:

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man everally as he will.

1 Corinthians 12:7-11 (KJV)

And you’ll know if these gifts are coming from God because they will bear these fruits:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV)

My friend, I invite you to share this message of using our gifts in building God’s kingdom while we await the return of Jesus.

I also invite you to get our dose of Bible passages or Bible verses for 90 days.
