The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.John 1:9-13 (English Standard Version)
Father in Heaven, I thank you for giving me this life. Despite the many challenges and heartaches. The darkness in me denied me of the beauty of this life. Forgive me.
Give me the grace to forgive myself, as you have always been ready to forgive me.
Please give me the grace to forgive those who have hurt me. I would also like to ask forgiveness for making things ugly and bitter for them.
Walk with me in this Journey through Jesus, my savior and king. May the eternal light of Jesus allow me to see and enjoy the beauty of this life.
Bless humanity that we may receive this light to build a much better future for our loved ones and the coming generation.
In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
What is one of the saddest days in your life?
Personally, that would be when a family member turns it back on me. Being disowned by a family member would hurt to the bone.
Did humanity disown God?
I think multiple times in the past and the present. The most concrete example is when God came as Jesus.
When Jesus came to the world, the world did not know him. His people did not receive him.
During that time, on his first coming, people were so engrossed with their traditions and laws that they lost touch with having a personal relationship with God. The way Abraham, Moses, Jacob, and David had. The people did not recognize God when He came as a man, Jesus. Many even despised him.
So I always tell my children, get to know God through Jesus now: “Talk to him, listen to him, and have a personal relationship with him. So that when he comes back, you’ll know it is him and will receive him.”
Is the world getting darker: more sinister and depressing?
It is but natural that when we don’t receive Jesus in our lives, we walk on our own with the bit of light from the lamp we have. Who knows when this could last? Self-confidence is admirable, but it won’t get you that far.
Jesus, who is the true light, can give light to everyone. This light is eternal, and you will never be on your own.
But the world, especially its leaders, does not want to receive the light. This is because they are so comfortable and engrossed with their power, traditions, and ambitions.
However, to all who would receive the light, Jesus. And to all those who would believe in his name, Jesus would give them the right to become children of God. This right is not because of blood nor the will of man. It is because of God.
