Passage 77: Are You Still Trying to Assimilate with the New Normal? Haven’t You Decided Yet?

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:2

Reflection

After days or perhaps weeks of trying to assimilate how to thrive into this new normal, I’ve finally realized that:

At this time, we can’t afford to be wishy-washy. We have to make a decision and stand our ground. We are the last stand.

Are you for the Kingdom of God or the corrupt empire of the enemy?

Indecisiveness is no longer an option you can take in the coming days, weeks, or years.

Prayer

Father in Heaven, grant me the grace of wisdom that I may understand Your Will. Please give me the courage and the strength to do them.

By your word, grant me the peace and comfort in Jesus Christ. Keep us from the evil one and sanctify us as we take our stand and await your kingdom and glory. This we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Challenge

We should not conform to this world but rather renew our thinking and discern that will of God for our family and ourselves.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. ( Romans 12:2 )

We should stop trying to fit into this world, for we are not of this world and are chosen out of this world for eternal life;

If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: “A servant is not greater than his master.” If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. (John 15:18-21)

God has made foolish the wisdom of the world;

For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”

Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (1 Corinthians 1:19-20)

We are kept from the evil one and are sanctified in God’s word, which is the truth;

 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:14-17)

We should not take part in any works of darkness but should expose them;

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. (Ephesians 5:11)

Jesus Christ has overcome the world and that in Him we may have peace; finally,

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

We should remember that whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. (James 4:4)
